Tittle Receiving Offers; Weighing Options
Joe Tittle knows that opportunities that he is examining don't present themselves to just anyone.

The versatile forward with the infectious smile is being courted by teams in Japan. Add the opportunity to play in what will be a high profile league on home soil in the New World Professional Basketball League (NWPBL), and it one understands why Joe has had some sleepless nights recently.

"I'll play for the Matadors but I'm doing my homework and exploring the possibilities overseas," he explained. "I have to consider all options because naturally the decisions won't effect just myself but my family as well."

Including TPBL games and out of league contests, Tittle averaged 18.5 points, six assists, 10 rebounds, 2.5 steals. The Airmen were +7 when he was on the court.

Fellow forward Danny Sommers is looking forward to seeing how all this unfolds for his good friend. "Joe's going to move up, period," Sommers said. "He will help someone's team.

"I pitty the teams that pass him up."

Airmen Take Flight Into NWPBL
Seven players from the current San Antonio Airmen roster have been promoted to the new San Antonio Matadors of the New World Professional Basketball League (NWPBL).

Those players exchanging their wings for capes are forwards Joe Tittle, Danny Sommers; guards Scott Trinquier, Luis Guerra, and Mykel Allen.

The coach has not been appointed yet but Airmen coach Mac Claire will handle the duties of General Manager.

While disappointed that their time in the TPBL was shorter than anticipated, the Airmen agree that this is a step up for everyone.
"The schedule was not kept by the teams and we had many games cancelled by the other clubs," Claire said. "The leadership, true leadership was lacking from all the way up at the top.

"When you are running a league and it's just about money for you, it shows and by moving to the NWPBL, the guys are assured of playing scheduled games.

"The leadership is solid and in place."
